Chiefs hammer Blues and end on a high

on

The Blues disappointed their fans again this week and this time it was against the Chiefs. Both teams were filled with All Black stars but it was the Chiefs who’s stars shone. The match was typical of the Blues season and can be summed up in one word. Frustrating.

The Chiefs however end their season on a high note getting their biggest win ever over the Blues. David Hill missed his first kick at goal but from that point on his kicking was flawless.

The Chiefs scored three tries and the Blues were only able to score three penalties through McAlister’s boot. The Blues had the Lions share of the territory but as hard as they tried they were not able to get over the Chiefs line.

The match looked like it could end without any tries being scored with 25 minutes to go but the Blues defence lapsed in the last quarter.

The Chiefs shouldn’t be too disappointed with their season on the whole. They started slow and gathered pace as the season went on. They do however finish 2 table points short of a Semi final qualification.

Mark Ranby played his last game for the Chiefs before he heads for Japan. Jonno Gibbes was asked if he has any plans to retire he responded after the match saying that all he has on his mind now is some “Waikato draughts”.

Final Score Blues 9 Chiefs 30

Scorers
