Chiefs loosehead prop Pauliasi Manu has been ruled out for the rest of the Super Rugby season after sustaining a season-ending Achilles injury.
Manu was expected to play in his 50th game for the Chiefs on Saturday but a freak incident has ended his season.
The prop ruptured his Achilles tendon while he was jogging during a low-intensity drill in training.
He will undergo surgery in the next few days before beginning a rehabilitation programme under the supervision of the Chiefs medical team.
The expected rehabilitation period is 6-9 months ruling him out of all rugby for the remainder of 2016.
