2.00: The Highlanders gave away a penalty almost from the start so Stephen Donald took the penalty kick and slotted it to put the Chiefs on the scoreboard.


8.00: Brendon Leonard scored the Chiefs first and his fouth try of the year when he ran through the Highlanders defence to score next to the posts.


9.00: Stephen Donald kicked the conversion from just in front of the posts.


17.00: Liam Messam looked to have scored a try so ref Stuart Dickinson went upstairs and the tv ref came back and said that it was a try.


18.00: Stephen Donald kicked the conversion – almost perfectly in the middle of the posts. (Has Donald put his kicking woes behind him?)


24.00: Lelia Masaga showed some great pace and scored the Chiefs third in the corner. The pass came from Brendon Leonard.

30.00: Fetu’u Vainikolo got the Highlanders on the scoreboard with a try.


31.00: Daniel Bowden missed the conversion.  


34.00: The Highlanders are having a gret passage of play and they come up with another try as Hoani MacDonald scores the Highlanders second try.


35.00: Daniel Bowden did better with the conversion and kicked it between the posts.


40.12: The Siren goes for half time.

41.00: Lelia Masaga scored the bonus point try for the Chiefs from a Stephen Donald upfield kick after he noticed the fullback was not in position.


42.00: Stephen Donald missed the conversion.


60.00: Fetu’u Vainikolo showed some great pace down the wing but slipped as he came to the Chiefs defence. He manages to hold on to the ball and get it out. Hoani MacDonald gets the ball and crashes over for his second try.


61.00: Daneil Bowden converts the try.


64.00: Fetu’u Vainikolo makes a mistake by dropping the ball – it hits the post and bopunces back and Brendon Leonard pounces on it as he crosses the tryline. The TV ref says no try as he grounded the ball short of the line.


64.00: A scrum is formed after the TV ref ruling and Stephen Donald gets the ball from the back of the scrum and runs straight through the defence to score behind the posts.


65.00: Stephen Donald converts his own try.


73.00: The Chiefs create the overlap and Sitiveni Sivivatu passes to Mils Muliaina who dives over the line to score another try for the Chiefs.


74.00: Stephen Donald sliced the conversion.


79.00: The Highlanders end on a high as Mike Delany scores a bonus point try


80.00: Mike Delany misses the conversion.
