Chiefs to field their stars against Waratahs

Chiefs coach Dave Rennie has included his three Rugby World Cup All Blacks in 35-man squad to play the Waratahs in a pre-season warm up.

Brodie Retallick, Sam Cane and Tawera Kerr-Barlow have all been included in a squad that will be captained by Cane.

There are big expectations in 2016 for Cane after the retirement of Richie McCaw as the All Blacks No 7 jersey is now up for grabs.

Cane says that after a three month break he has returned to camp feeling refreshed

“The break was awesome, I got away and hardly spent any time at home to be honest, just tripping round different parts of the country catching up with other people, from one beach house to a lake house, whatever it may be, and try and juggle training in and around that,” Cane told Stuff.

“So I came back in fairly good shape but also really mentaly refreshed and pretty excited about what’s ahead this year.”
