1.00:The Blues receive the ball but Melani Nanai knocks on so the Chiefs have a scrum in the Blues half.

3.00: The Blues win the scrum and work the ball through several phases and get to the Chiefs 22m line where they are pushed into touch. The Blues had a penalty advantage so they are called back and will have a shot at the posts.

5.00: Otere Black slots the penalty and the Blues lead.

7.00: The Blues sustain some pressure from the Chiefs and the reward comes with the put in at the scrum inside their half.

8.00: The Chiefs front row collapses so the Blues have a penalty. They kick for touch.

9.00: The Blues win the line out and move the ball down the line – but Brad Weber intercepts and races away to the line leaving the Blues well behind him and scores under the posts. TRY!

10.00: Mckenzie adds the conversion.

13.00: There is a break in play for an injury. Blues possession is at 71%

14.00: Scrum penalty to the Blues again. It’s kickable but the Blues want another scrum.

16.00: The Blues win the scrum but the Chiefs defend and shut down the attacks and win the scrum put in when the ball goes dead.

18.00; The Chiefs win the scrum and run it for a bit and then kick and chase. The Blues get back but their kick is charged down and the Chiefs are up on the ball quickly but knock it on – 5m out.

20.00; The Blues win the scrum and kick the ball out. The Chiefs form a maul after the line out and drive the Blues back towards the line. The Chiefs recycle the ball and attack but then the ball is lost forward.

22.00: The Chiefs come away with the ball from the scrum but it is lost by Taleni Seu , the Blues run it almost to the half way line. The Chiefs turn the ball over and run it into the Blues 22.

24.00: The Chiefs keep the ball moving forward slowly but surely. Damien McKenzie slips through three tackles and gets to the line where his momentum runs out. Lachlan Boshier gets the ball and goes over to score. TRY! 

25.00: McKenzie slots the conversion.

28.00: Penalty to the Chiefs after Anton Lienert-Brown chips the ball ahead for the chasers and the Blues concede infringe. The Chiefs kick for touch and take the line out.

29.00: The Chiefs win the line out and form a maul. The Blues enter the maul illegally so the Chiefs have another penalty. McKenzie kicks to the corner again.

31.00: The Chiefs win the line out and form the maul. The ball goes dead this time and the Blues get the scrum put in.

34.00: Penalty to the Chiefs. McKenzie lines up the posts. He misses.

36.00: Hands in the ruck penalty to the Chiefs. McKenzie kicks to the corner for the line out.

39.00: The Blues win a scrum in their 22. They run it out of their 22 and get almost straight up to the Chiefs 22m line. After 6 phases they drive over that 22m line. The ball goes to ground but the ball is kept alive by the Blues. The siren sounds.

41.00: The Blues keep recycling the ball and on the 11th phase the Chiefs run out of defenders and Melani Nanai scores in the corner. TRY! 

42.00: Otere Black takes the conversion kick almost from the touchline. He nails it!

The Blues kick off and the second half is underway.

41.00: Damien McKenzie suffers a blow early on and goes down. The game is paused while he gets some help. Could be an ACL. It’s his right knee. He limps off and is replaced by Ataata Moeakiola.

42.00: The Chiefs have a penalty but the kick is missed by Marty McKenzie.

44.00: The Chiefs attack in the Blues 22. Anton Lienert-Brown makes the break and offloads to Ataata Moeakiola who scores. TRY!  Moeakiola has only just come on!

45.00: Marty McKenzie adds the conversion.

48.00: The Blues keep the ball in hand and go through 8 phases which gets them to the 22m line. The ball is turned over and Marty McKenzie kicks the ball well upfield forcing the Blues to attack from deep all over again.

53.00: The Chiefs win a scrum but they lose their footing on attack and concede a penalty. The Blues kick for touch.

57.00: The The Blues win a scrum on the 5m line. They get quick ball to Ma’a Nonu who bashes through and scores. TRY! At 36 Nonu is still putting his hand up for All Black selection.

59.00: Black misses the conversion.

61.00: The Chiefs attack the Blues on the half way line and look likely to score but they get tackled into touch.

62.00: The Blues win the line out and kick the ball upfield. The Chiefs start their attack from near the half way line. Sean Wainui is passed the ball, its low so he chips it up to his hand and breaks away. He offloads and Boshier gets away and scores. TRY! Under the posts. TMO review approves the try.

64.00: M.McKenzie adds the conversion.

65.00; The Blues hit back. They run the into the Chiefs 22. The ball is recycled a couple of metres out and Rieko Ioane scores in the corner – next to the flag. TRY !

Black adds the conversion from out wide.

69.00: M.Mckenzie boots the ball to the corner setting up an attacking line out. The Chiefs win the line out and attack the Blues. They get inside the 5m line after 7 phases.

71.00: The Chiefs go through 8 phases and drive over the line, they go wide on the 10th phase and Jesse Parete scores. TRY! 

72.00: M.McKenzie takes the conversion kick near the touchline – he hits the post.

75.00: The Blues work the ball to the Chiefs 5m line through 14 phases. They are held out but go again. 17 phases and then the ball gets to Ma’a Nonu who bashes through to score his second TRY! 

77.00: Harry Plummer adds the conversion which sets up a tight finish.

79.00: The Blues want this. They have the ball in the Chiefs half and are muscling up. The Blues knock on. All the Chiefs have to do now is hold on to the ball.

80.00: The hooter sounds. The Chiefs get the ball back and kick it out. The Chiefs have won.
