00.1: Aaron Cruden kicks off and the match is underway.

2.00: The Chiefs make a fast start to the match by working through the phases. The ball is moved through the Chiefs hands and it gets to a Crusaders player and they instantly attack and take the ball into touch near the 5m line.

The Chiefs make a mistake in the line out and Scott Barrett gets the ball with a gap in front of him but as he dives for the line he loses the ball. The ball is recycled and kicked upfield. The Crusaders win a penalty and take the line out option.

4.00: The Crusaders attack at the line and the Chiefs defend well but the Crusaders use the cross kick and Sevu Reece gets the ball on the wing and scores. TRY!

5.00: David Havili misses the conversion from out wide.

8.00: The Chiefs set up a line out on the Crusaders 22 line. They win the line out but as they attack the Crusaders are caught offside so the Chiefs have a penalty in front of the posts. They will have a shot.

10.00: Aaron Cruden lines up the penalty kick. He nails it.

13.00: The Crusaders attack in the Chiefs 22. Havili sends a wide pass out to Reece who races in and scores in the corner. TRY!

15.00: Havili nails the conversion this time.

18.00: McKenzie breaks down the wing for the Chiefs, he is caught but gets the ball away and the Chiefs continue the attack and get to the 5m line. The Chiefs recycle and move the ball back towards the wing where McKenzie gets back on the attack but is stopped again. The ball is turned over and kicked well upfield – George Bridge chases the ball but the line wins.

19.00: The line out is a mess and the result is a 5m scrum for the Crusaders as the Chiefs carry the ball over and dot it down.

20.00: The Crusaders win the scrum but after a few phases the Chiefs turn the ball over, kick it upfield where they win a penalty on the half way line.

21.00: Cruden kicks for touch.

23.00: The Chiefs win the line out. They set up the drive but the whistle goes for a penalty for an early shove taking the legs out from under the catcher. The handbags come out so the ref has to jump in and stop the argument. The captains are given a warning.

24.00:The Chiefs get another line out. They win the line out and set up a maul. The Chiefs suck the Crusaders in and then go wide and the ball gets to Solomon Alaimalo who uses his pace to get over in the corner. TRY!

25.00: Aaron Cruden takes the conversion kick but misses.

31.00: The Crusaders go on full attack in the Chiefs 22. They go through the phases but the Chiefs defend and kill off the attacks and keep them out.

32.00: The Crusaders set up and win a line out on the Chiefs 22 but the ball gets turned over in the maul and the Chiefs get the put in for the scrum.

35.00: The Crusaders concede a penalty at the scrum so the Chiefs kick for touch and find it near the half way line.

38.00: The Crusaders win the line out and run it straight into the Chiefs 22. They get to the 5m line and start going through the phases. On the 9th phase Will Jordan goes over but is held up.

39.00: The Crusaders win the scrum on the 5m line. They get the advantage and after losing the ball turns out to be crucial as they get another scrum.

40.00: The Crusaders win the scrum as the bell rings for half time – the Chiefs turn the ball over and Cruden boots it into touch to end the half.

The Crusaders kick off and the second half is underway.

42.00: The Chiefs pile on the pressure from the start and immediately get into the Crusaders 22. They go through 12 phases and batter the line. Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi gets the ball and reaches for the line and scores. TRY! The Chiefs lead.

43.00: Cruden adds the conversion.

46.00: The Chiefs set up a ruck but the ball pops up, the Crusaders grab it and run for the line. The Crusaders get the ball into the Chiefs 22 where they win a penalty.

47.00: Havili will have a shot at the posts. He nails it and levels the scores.

50.00: The Chiefs are keeping the ball in hand more and working it through the phases.

52.00: The Chiefs go through 20 phases. 21, then 22 but on the 23rd the Crusaders win a penalty.

56.00: The Chiefs look to be going through the motions on attack inside the Crusaders half. Out of nowhere Brad Weber gets the ball away in a tackle for Sean Wainui who bursts into space and runs off to score for the Chiefs. TRY!

57.00: Cruden adds the conversion and the Chiefs lead again.

61.00: The Chiefs are keeping the Crusaders in check and pinning them back in their half.

66.00: The Crusaders get some attacking ball and run it into the Chiefs 22.

69.00: The Chiefs defend and keep them out. The Chiefs press the Crusaders back over the half way line and win a penalty. McKenzie will have a shot at the posts. McKenzie’s kick is away to the right.

72.00: The Crusaders continue to try and attack the Chiefs but the home side keep scrambling and defending their line.

73.00: Free kick from the scrum to the Chiefs. They choose another scrum.

75.00: Penalty to the Crusaders. They kick to the corner. The Crusaders win the line out – but then the Chiefs turn the ball over and boot it into touch!

76.00: The game is paused while the TMO looks at a potential dangerous tackle. It is just a penalty – against the Crusaders.

77.00: Penalty to the Chiefs at the breakdown. They will have a shot at the posts.

78.00: Aaron Cruden lines up the posts – he nails it. The Crusaders have to score twice now. That kick also removes the Crusaders losing bonus point.

80.00: The siren sounds – that’s it the Chiefs have won.
