Last year’s Super Rugby finalists the Hurricanes have named their team to play the Brumbies in Canberra with Dane Coles as captain.

Coles was in doubt for the Super Rugby opening match but has recovered from his hamstring injury and will start the match.

Along with Coles, Victor Vito, TJ Perenara, Beauden Barrett, Nehe Milner-Skudder, and Julian Savea all start.

Ma’a Nonu and Conrad Smith have both moved on so there is a new look midfield of Ngani Laumape and Vince Aso.

Hurricanes head coach Chris Boyd says that he is happy with where his team are after suffering some injury setbacks in the pre-season.

“There are still a couple of guys on the sidelines, but I’m more than happy with the squad we will run out against the Brumbies,” Boyd told newshub.

“The guys have put in some hard yards over the preseason and they’ve worked very hard.

“A lot of the guys put their hands up against the Crusaders last week in Blenheim, but we know that won’t count for much if we can’t carry that momentum into the season proper.”
