Hurricanes captain Dane Coles looks set to play in the Super Rugby final against South Africa’s Lions in Wellington on Saturday.

Coles injured his ribs in the Super Rugby quarter final victory over the Sharks and left the field in agony.

The All Black hooker missed last week’s Super Rugby semi-final victory over the Chiefs but has been bracketed in team line up for the final.

Coles was seen practicing his line out throwing on Friday and playing touch rugby at Wellington’s Westpac Stadium and appears to be on track to feature for the Hurricanes.

Should Coles fail a late fitness test he would be replaced by Ricky Riccitelli who was an able replacement last week.

The Hurricanes are the only remaining New Zealand team yet to win a Super Rugby title while the Lions are bidding to become the second South African team to win a title.
