Christchurch based Super Rugby franchise the Crusaders will be without first five Richie Mo’unga due to an injury he sustained in the opening round.
Mo’unga played in the Crusaders 17-13 victory over the Brumbies at AMI Stadium in Christchurch on Saturday and injured his hand in the match.
Mo’unga presented with a sore hand after last night’s game against the Brumbies and further investigations revealed the fracture.
Mo’unga had surgery for the fractured bone in his left hand on Sunday.
He is recovering well and expected to require approximately 6 – 8 weeks before returning to play.
The Crusaders travel to Dunedin this week for their second round clash against the Highlanders.
