2.00: An early penalty-advantage goes the way of the hosts after a sustained attack that lasted 14-phases, but referee James Doleman calls advantage over before the Saders kick the ball away.

4.00: Mo’unga pins the Chiefs back inside their 22 with a pin-point kick.

5.00: Damian McKenzie clears the danger, relieving the pressure with a big boot to the halfway line.

7.00: The Crusaders are going to the air often and with success, using Gary Owens in the wet conditions, which the Chiefs are struggling to hold.

9.00: A couple of reset scrums; oh, how we’ve missed them.

10.00: The Crusaders win a penalty after Nepo Laulala collapses the reset scrum. Mo’unga calls for the tee.

11.00: PENALTY! Mo’unga, who kicked 8 from 10 last weekend, opens the scoring for the Saders. 3-0

13.00: The Chiefs are struggling to hang on to the ball in the slippery conditions. The visitors were attacking the Crusaders’ line, but have been pushed back to halfway. They eventually win an attacking lineout after a poor clearance by the hosts.

16.00: The Chiefs probing the Crusaders defence, spill the ball after several phases; however, they win a penalty after Cullen Grace is caught offside. Sam Cane opts for an attacking lineout. Aaron Cruden boots the ball to the 5m-line.

17.00: Superb defending by the Saders, but Whetu Douglas loses the ball forward into touch. The Chiefs go again with a driving maul.

18.00: Brad Weber loses possession at the ruck, Bryn Hall gathers and clears to his 10m. Opportunity missed by the visitors.

20.00: Chiefs have dominated the last 10 minutes but have nothing to show for it.

22.00: Mitchell Dunshea cannot roll away from the ruck and is pinged by the ref. This time, Cane points for the posts.

24.00: PENALTY! McKenzie levels. 3-3

26.00: Billy Harmon falls foul of Mr Doleman, who deems the flanker infringed at the breakdown. Scott Robertson winces inside the coaches’ booth. McKenzie calls for the tee.

28.00: MISS! The fullback misses from out wide. 3-3

30.00: Mo’unga with another pin-point kick behind the Chiefs’ back three puts the visitors inside their 22.

33.00: TRY! Sevu Reece wins the contest for the high ball with McKenzie, who overshot his run and misjudged the ball. Reece raced into the Chiefs’ half before playing Will Jordan on his inside after Sean Wainui had committed to tackling the winger. Jordan cruised to the try-line for the game’s first try. 8-3

35.00: CONVERSION! Mo’unga adds the extras. 10-3

36.00: A poor lineout by the Chiefs gives the Saders the third scrum of the match.

38.00: Scrum to the Chiefs after a handling error by the hosts near the chiefs’ line.

40.00: Weber clears after a good scrum by the Crusaders. The hosts have one more shot before halftime.

46.00: TRY! What was Cruden thinking? What were the Chiefs doing? Reece takes a quick throw, seeing Jordan flying down the sideline and the 22-year-old finishes in the corner. That was vintage Crusaders, who caught the Chiefs napping. 15-3

52.00: The Chiefs’ lineout is starting to disintegrate and their handling is getting worse. They are in trouble here.

54.00: A communication breakdown leads to another lost lineout, that’s four lost now.

57.00: Another botched attack as the Chiefs entered the opposition’s 22. Lachlan Boshier is penalised, and the Saders boot to touch.

59.00: Mo’unga continues to play the percentages, pinning the Chiefs back inside their 22 with another accurate kick behind the back three.

61.00: PENALTY! Mo’unga extends his side’s lead to three scores with his second goal. 18-3

63.00: Sean Wainui goes close but is kept out by the defenders inside the 22.

64.00: TRY! Wainui crashes through Mitchell Drummond to give his team some hope. 18-8

66.00: CONVERSION! McKenzie adds the extras. 18-10

69.00: Grace is offside again. The Chiefs need to take the points, here.

70.00: PENALTY! McKenzie makes no mistake. GAME ON! 18-13

72.00: The Crusaders win a penalty now, but it is from about 49 metres. Havili steps up to take a shot from near halfway.

73.00: MISS! Havili’s kick is short. 18-13

76.00: Havili has a brain freeze, taking the ball into his 22 and then booting the ball directly out.

77.00: The Chiefs go 12 phases but cannot break the line. Cruden went close, so did Weber and Anton Lienert-Brown.

78.00: The ball is lost after 15 phases and hacked out of the Saders’ 22. Chiefs come again, but knock-on the ball without contact. Samisoni Taukei’aho was the guilty party.

80.00: The Crusaders keep possession, run the clock down before booting the ball out after the hooter.
