All Blacks and Crusaders fullback looks set to feature for the All Blacks in the Rugby Championship having gone through training successfully this week.

Dagg has played just five Super Rugby matches in this season and has been on the sidelines for 12 weeks with a calf injury.

All Blacks assistant coach Ian Foster says Dagg came through their camp this week in Auckland with flying colours.

Another player who has come through training is Charles Piutau but he will have to play some club rugby.

Dagg’s sixth game of rugby could be the All Blacks match against Samoa in Apia next month and then if he comes through his next game would be in the Rugby Championship.

“Izzy trained fully. Whilst it wasn’t hard out, he did the physical parts when he needed to, so that’s a good sign,” Foster told Stuff.

“We were keen to load him this week and then give him a weekend off to see how he responds to that, but signs are very good.”

Foster also said that Jerome Kaino and Sam Cane also came through the camp without any injury concerns.

“We eased him [Cane] off a bit, he looked pretty jaded and a bit beat up, but he just needs a bit of time off the park.”
