Highly rated Hawkes Bay full-back, Israel Dagg, has penned a deal which will allow him to play his provincial rugby for Hawkes Bay and continue his association with the Highlanders for the 2010 Super Rugby.

Whilst leaving Hawkes Bay was never a realistic option, Dagg, 21, had been weighing up his Super Rugby options:

“With the Hurricanes well served with full-backs & my wish to play as much Super Rugby as possible, the Highlanders is the right choice.”

“I enjoyed my time there last season & enjoy working with Glenn Moore and my provincial coach Peter Russell” said Dagg.

“We will now work with Hawkes Bay to get the paper-work in order to facilitate the transfer-loan back process prior to the 16 October” commented Dagg’s agent, Simon Porter.

Glenn Moore, head coach of the Highlanders was very pleased with Dagg coming back, “The continuity of players, season on season, is hugely important.”

“Israel is a high quality player who is one of the best full-backs around; I am delighted he is returning”, he said.
