Stormers captain Jean de Villiers, who was carried off strapped to a stretcher on Saturday during the Super 14 match against the Sharks at Newlands, will be back on the field soon.
He was taken to hospital on Saturday as a precautionary measure but discharged later.
“He is stiff and sore but other than that it is nothing serious. It is definitely not concussion and he suffered more from whiplash. We will be monitoring his situation during the week,” said Erasmus.
De Villiers took a heavy knock to the head just after halftime. He was stretchered off and taken to hospital immediately with what seemed a serious neck injury and it was feared that he would be out for a long time.
