According to coach Johann Lerm the South Western District Eagles are set for a super season, “We are confident we now have the players to qualify for next year’s Currie Cup competition.

The spirit in the camp is outstanding after a successful Vodacom Cup campaign.

“We are now all waiting on Gaffie du Toit, Junior Leota, Jeandre Blom and Wikus Liebenberg to arrive. “Bevin Fortuin is already training with us,” Lerm said.

Asked whether Fortuin is on loan from the Cheetahs, Lerm said: “Yes, he is on loan. But when his contract with the Free State outfit expires at the end of the year, he is not going to renew it. Bevin has finally come home,” the coach added.

Lerm also said that his group pf players will have no contact session for the next month. “During the next four weeks we will be in the gymnasium for most of thie time. We need to get our strength up to the next level.

“We will only make contact again about a week before we play the Boland Kavaliers in a friendly match,” he said.
