An Independent Committee has found Rugby WA guilty of breaching the Australian Rugby Union’s player contracting process in relation to their dealings with Waratah lock Al Kanaar and will be fined $110,000.
The Independent Committee found that Rugby WA had entered a negotiation process with Kanaar in a way that was contrary to and in breach of the contracting protocols.
The Independent Committee was instigated by the ARU afterit received a formal complaint from the NSW Rugby Union. The Independent Committee was chaired by Bruce Hodgkinson SC and included Matt Laffan and Geoff Shaw.
