Force Gold lose try fest thriller

Western Force Gold have gone down to a Sharks Invitational side by 5 points in a thrilling try-fest at Woodburn Stadium in Pietermaritzburg.

The visitors scored four tries to five in an entertaining encounter, in which they fought back from large deficits in both halves in front of a crowd of more than 8,000.

The final score was 31 to 36.

Tryscorers for Western Force Gold were Zander Peden, Haig Sare, Brett Stapleton and Chris O’Young. Brock James kicked three goals and a penalty, and Vitori Buatava kicked one goal.

Western Force Gold’s next game is against the Golden Lions on Saturday at the University of Johannesburg. Kick-off is at 1pm (SA time).
