Force Super 14 player banned for being too young

Rugby fans will not see a player who has been touted as one of the hottest rugby talents around for some time after being banned by the irb.

Australian schoolboys flanker David Pocock has been banned from playing for the Force on Thursday night against the Blues at Eden Park.

Pocock has also been ruled out of the whole Super 14, because he is too young at 17 years of age. The young man does not turn 18 until late April.

The IRB has ruled Pocock can not play this season, in spite of the Force giving him 20 minutes against South Africa team the Cheetahs two weeks ago in a trial game.

Pocock is said to be about six foot tall and weighs close to 100 kilograms.
