Crusaders beat the Force in Perth

The second Super Rugby match on Friday is in Perth where the Force host the Crusaders who are on their way back to New Zealand from South Africa.

Peter Grant kicks off and we are underway in Perth.

1.00: The Crusaders win an early line out and run the ball but the ball gets knocked on at the breakdown by the Force.

3.00: The Crusaders win the scrum and run the ball. They go wide to Nemani Nadolo on the fourth phase but he is brought to ground. The Crusaders recycle a couple of time and Nadolo comes back into the attack and offloads to Mitchell Drummond who scores. TRY!

5.00: Richie Mo’unga misses the conversion.

7.00: Penalty to the Force. They tap it and run. After a couple of phases the Force win another penalty.

8.00: Peter Grant lines up the posts. Grant takes the kick and nails it.

11.00: The Crusaders win a line out and go through a couple of phases before they are awarded a penalty for playing the ball offside. Mo’unga will take a shot at the posts.

12.00: Mo’unga lines up and takes the kick. He nails it.

14.00: Another penalty to the Force. Grant lines up the kick and takes the shot. He nails it.

17.00: The Crusaders win a line out.  They pass the ball out to Mo’unga who gets flattened by Angus Cottrell. The Force eventually turn the ball over and work it to the Crusaders 22. The Crusaders then turn the ball over and run it out of their 22.

19.00: The Force counter attack and almost get through but the Crusaders turn the ball over and kick upfield. Pek Cowan is forced to leave the field due to injury. At the same time Owen Francks comes back on from the blood bin.

20.00:The Force take the ball into touch. The Crusaders win the line out, after 4 phases the Force’s defence starts to open up. However on the 7th phase the Force turn the ball over and kick for touch.

22.00: The Crusaders win a line out and start working the ball through the phases. They continue to use Nadolo as a battering ram. The Crusaders go from side to side on attack.

24.00: The Crusaders lose the ball forward after 7 phase.

25.00: The Force kick deep to relieve pressure and the ball goes straight to Johnny McNicholl who runs through the Force and offloads to Luke Romano who knocks on.

26.00: The Crusaders go through three phases after a scrum and get into the Force’s 22. They keep the ball alive and on the fifth phase Johnny McNicholl slips through and reaches for the line in the tackle and scores. TRY !

29.00: Mo’unga takes the conversion kick but misses.

32.00: The Force get the ball in the Crusaders half. They keep the ball moving but its slow as they go through the phases and then they kick for the corner.

34.00; The Crusaders win a penalty for a high tackle. They kick for touch.

35.00: The Force try to work the ball out of their 22 but they knock on as they get out.

36.00: The Crusaders win a scrum and run at the Force just outside the Force’s 22. They go through 3 phases and then the Force turn the ball over and kick deep.

37.00: Nemani Nadolo tries to attack down the wing but loses the ball into touch.

39.00: The Force throw the ball in to the line not straight. The Crusaders have a scrum. They win the ball and go through three phases and kick for touch.

40.00: The siren sounds but we have time for a line out. The Crusaders throw the ball in. They move the ball to the far side and then come back but after four phases they knock on.

It’s half time.

The Crusaders kick off and the second half is underway.

42.00: The Force win a penalty in front. Peter Grant takes the kick and he nails it. The Crusaders lead by four.

43.00: The Force win a scrum and go through a couple of phases before the Crusaders knock on.

46.00: The Force win the scrum and run the ball into the Crusaders 22. They go through 6 phases and get to the 5m line. The Crusaders knock on giving the Force a 5m scrum.

49.00: The Force win the scrum and attack. They get to 1m out. They change sides and run at the Crusaders.

51.00: Rasolea almost gets through but the Force keep the ball alive. 10 phases and still they attack. Penalty to the Force. They choose to kick for posts. The crowd feel they should have gone for the try.

52.00: Grant kicks the penalty and the Force trail by one.

53.00: Joe Moody comes on for Wyatt Crockett and Scott Barrett is on for Sam Whitelock.

55.00: The Force come away with the ball from a line out. They run at the Crusaders who are almost starting to look rattled and they knock on. Ian Pryor has taken a knock and has to come off.

55.00: The Force win the scrum and Ryan Louwrens runs the ball. The Force go through a couple of phases and  Dane Haylett-Petty dabs the ball through and Ben Volavola has to take the ball into touch. The Force make a mess of the line out again though. The Crusaders kick deep.

59.00: The Force make a mess of another line out and the Crusaders kick deep.

60.00: The Force turn the ball over from a Crusaders attack. Rasolea races for the line and is caught,  Matt Hodgson gets the ball and goes for the line, he is tackled and loses the ball but it goes straight to Ryan Louwrens who scores. TRY!

62.00: Grant adds the conversion and the Force lead.

65.00: The Crusaders try to get back into the game. They work the ball to Force’s 5m line. The Force scramble and defend. The Crusaders win a penalty. They choose the line out.

66.00: The Crusaders win the line out but get shoved into touch.

68.00; The Crusaders win a penalty and use the tap and go. The Crusaders put the Force’s line under pressure but the Force win a penalty and kick for touch to clear.

69.00: The Crusaders see the Force are open  out wide. They kick for the corner and McNicholl dives for the ball as he gets to the line but he fumbles the ball. 5m Scrum.

71.00: There is a break in play as Nathan Charles has injured his arm. Could be broken. Heath Tessman has to come back on.

74.00: The Crusaders attack again in the Force’s 22 but as they get in front of the posts. Volavola knocks on.

76.00: The Crusaders win a penalty from a scrum. They take the line out.

77.00: The Crusaders win the line out. They use the maul and have the advantage. The Crusaders drive over the line and Jordan Taufua scores. TRY!

79.00: Mo’unga slots the conversion and the Crusaders lead.

80.00: The Crusaders win a penalty. They kick for touch. Thats it the Crusaders have won.
