Chiefs Captain Jono Gibbes is said to be joining English club Saracens, this comes according to The Sun newspaper. The Sun says that Gibbes will join the club and will replace Taine Randell at the club next season.

Randell is coming to the end of his three year contract with Saracens at the end of this season.

The Gibbes deal is said to be a three-year contract worth about ‘400,000. In response to this report Gibbes’ agent has denied the contract and says that Gibbes is staying in New Zealand. Rob Brady did confimr the interest from foreign clubs.

His Chiefs coach said that he would be very surprised if Gibbes left to play in Europe. “I know Jono is very passionate about being a Chief,” he said.

“He puts his heart and soul into his performances here and he’s passionate about getting more opportunities for the All Blacks. I don’t think he’s in a rush to go overseas.”

Let’s wait & see what happens. Watch this space…………..
