Cheetah prop Kobus Calldo has been included in the Griffons front row for their encounter with the EP Mighty Elephants in PE on Saturday with Herschol Johnson next to him at hooker, but without older Johnson brother Ashley who got a call up from the Cheetahs.

Ashley will start for the Cheetahs a tNo 8 and younger brother Hershol will take his place in the middle of the scrum.

These two changes in the front row and the return of Cheetah Gerrie Odendaalas scrumhalf are the only changes to the side that got a hiding from the Pumas in Witbank last week.

Calldo will hopefully bring stability after the Puma’s Ronnie Uys toyed with young Sewes Oosthuizen last week.

The Cheetahs sent Calldo to the Griffons because of the great form of WP Nel and Coenie Oosthuizen in the Cheetah pack. Ex Shimla Gert Erasmus will be on the bench on Saturday.

The men from Welkom cannot afford to lose another match if they want to defend their title of the First Division. Old man Kennedy Tsimba remains in the side after a series of unimpressive performances which may indicate that his coaching days are close.
