Highlanders first five-eighth Daniel Bowden is returning to New Zealand after suffering concussion in the match against the Bulls in Pretoria.

Highlanders coach Glenn Moore said, ‘It is unfortunate for Dan to be leaving us but head injuries have to be treated with caution and we have decided it would be best for him to go home to rest and recover’.

Bowden will be out for the next two weeks and has been replaced by Highlanders wider training group member Blair Stewart who has flown to South Africa to join the squad.
