Marty McKenzie kicks off for the Chiefs and the match is underway.

3.00: The Highlanders lose the ball in a tackle and the ball is kicked ahead and chased by Anton Lienert-Brown who gets to the ball and scores. The TMO review however reveals that the Lienert-Brown knocked the ball on in the tackle so we go back for a scrum.

5.00: The Highlanders win the scrum and after they run the ball a penalty against Tyler Ardron. The Highlanders kick to the corner and take the line out.

6.00: The Highlanders win the line out and move the ball quickly to the line, Josh Ioane fakes a small dummy at pace and is double tackled but has enough momentum to carry him over and he scores. TRY!

7.00: Josh Ioane converts his try.

9.00: The Chiefs get the ball well inside their half. Tyler Ardron offloads the ball to Brad Weber at pace and he races away to the line and scores. TRY!

10.00: Marty McKenzie adds the conversion to level the scores.

13.00: The Highlanders go through 8 phases on attack in the Chiefs half. They get into the Chiefs 22 and then to the 5m line on the 12th phase. On the 13th phase the Highlanders drive over the line. The TMO will review the try. Possibly held up. TMO review confirms it was held up.

18.00: The Highlanders continue to attack in the Chiefs 22. They go through 7 phases and get to the line on the 8th phase. On the 9th phase Ben Smith picks up the ball and dives over. TRY! Under the posts.

19.00: Josh Ioane adds the conversion.

22.00: The Chiefs kick the ball deep into Highlanders territory but Ben Smith gets back and boots the ball back to the Chiefs and into touch near the half way line.

23.00: The Chiefs win the line out and McKenzie gets into space but offloads to a Highlanders player. The Highlanders go on the attack with fluid passing as they go and it gets them into the Chiefs 22.

24.00: After 7 phases the Highlanders lose the ball in front of the posts in the tackle.

26.00: Chiefs captain Michael Allardice has been replaced by Taleni Seu. Lachlan Boshier has also gone off so the Chiefs are being hit by injury. Brad Weber is now Chiefs captain.

29.00: The Highlanders win a penalty. Ioane kicks to the corner and sets up a line out on the 5m line.

31.00: The Highlanders win the line out and drive to the line. The maul breaks up just before the line so the Chiefs have a 5m scrum.

The Chiefs get the ball into spcace with a break from Tamua Manu who passes to Etene Nanai-Seturo who gets close but is stopped. Luke Jacobson gathers the ball and bounces through a couple of tackles and scores. TRY!

35.00: McKenzie misses the conversion.

40.00: The siren sounds as the Chiefs chip and chase. They get the advantage for a high tackle and play on until they are called back for the penalty.

42.00: The Chiefs take the line out and win it. They get the ball to the Highlanders 22m line. The Chiefs go through 6 phases but then concede a penalty.

43.00: The Highlanders take the line out as they have to play the ball. They win the line out and kick the ball into touch to end the half.

The Highlanders kick off and the second half is underway.

41.00: The Highlanders come close to getting the perfect start as they almost score from the opening move. The Chiefs manager to stop the attack on the 5m line. The Highlanders do however get a line out on the 5m line.

42.00: The Highlanders win the line out and attack in the Chiefs 22 but they are held out until they win a penalty. Ioane kicks for touch to set up a line out on the 5m line.

44.00: The Highlanders win the line out and on the second phase the ball is turned over but then lost forward by the Chiefs. Highlanders 5m scrum in front of the posts.

45.00: The Highlanders win the scrum, Aaron Smith offloads to Ben Smith who makes a little space and then passes back to Aaron Smith who passes to Matt Faddes who scores in the corner. TRY! 

46.00: Josh Ioane slots the conversion.

51.00: The Highlanders have the ball on attack and as nothing seems to be on Josh Ioane slips through a gap and makes huge ground. He looks like he is expecting to be caught but just keeps on running. The Chiefs catch up but the Highlanders support comes as well and they suck in the Chiefs through phase play in the middle of the field. The Highlanders get the ball out to the wing with a long skipping pass from Aaron Smith to James Lentjes who dives in and scores. TRY!  

54.00: Ioane slots the conversion from out wide near the touchline.

58.00: The Chiefs strike back. The Chiefs get a line out on the Highlanders 22 from a penalty for not releasing. They win the line out and pass the ball down the 5m channel and after a couple of passes Angus Ta’avao scores in the corner.

59.00: The conversion is missed.

64.00: The Chiefs have suffered another injury. Taleni Seu has to come off and Sean Wanui moves to flank on the side of the scrum. Kane Hammington comes on for Aaron Smith.

67.00: The Chiefs go through 6 phases when the Highlanders almost intercept. The ball changes sides again and the Chiefs get the ball out to the wing and then to Tyler Ardron who cuts in a little and scores. TRY! Special mention for Luke Jacobson who played a big part in that.

69.00: McKenzie adds the conversion.

72.00: Both teams know they can win this if they score next so they are both full of running. They are running from almost everywhere. Hammington tries something different with a long kick. The Chiefs get back and take the quick line out and boot it back. It’s fast and loose.

74.00: Ben Smith has to be helped from the field after being wrapped up in a big tackle. It doesnt look too good.

75.00: Highlanders win a penalty from the scrum.

77.00: The Highlanders have a penalty against Tyler Ardron and will kick for posts. Ioane takes the kick and nails it.

79.00: The Chiefs win the ball back from the restart. They go through the phases and get the ball to the line. The Chiefs have a couple of goes at the line and Angus Ta’avao scores. TRY! 

80.00: McKenzie adds the conversion and the scores are level !

81.00: The Highlanders get away and into space – one tackler to beat but the Chiefs make the tackle. The ball is passed out to a Highlanders player who is open with the try line ahead … and it goes in to touch. It’s all over. It’s a draw.
