Charlie Hore, the brother of All Blacks and Hurricanes hooker, Andrew Hore, will make his first start in Super rugby when the Highlanders challenge the Sharks at home on Saturday.

Hore gained his first taste of Super 14 when he came on as a replacement in the first two rounds of this year’s contest, but now he is set to run on wearing the number ten jersey.

Regular fly-half Callum Bruce shifts to inside centre, while Jason Kawau drops to the bench.

In the only other change from the side that lost narrowly to the Lions last Saturday, Kane Thompson returns in the place of Filipo Levi at lock.

Charlie Hore has played New Zealand provincial rugby for both Canterbury and Otago, and has also represented Scottish club Borders.

The Highlanders, however, after gaining an opening win against the more-fancied Force, will have to dig deep against a strong Sharks side at home in Durban, after losing their first game in South Africa when they went down in Johannesburg against the Lions.

The Otago-based side is without key All Black players like Anton Oliver and Carl Hayman, whilst regular fly-half and key playmaker, Nick Evans, is at home injured.
