Melbourne’s Rebels have announced that the club and David Horwitz have mutually agreed that Horwitz will depart the Club at the conclusion of the 2018 Super Rugby season.

The 23-year-old, who is off contract at the end of the season, has agreed to join Irish club, Connacht.

Horwitz signed with the Rebels in July 2017 ahead of the 2018 Super Rugby season, after four seasons and 27 caps at the NSW Waratahs.

Speaking on Horwitz’s time with the Melbourne Rebels, General Manager – Rugby, Nick Ryan said: “David has shown maturity and professionalism since his first day at the Club and the Melbourne Rebels respect David’s wishes to further his career elsewhere.

“Everyone at the Melbourne Rebels wishes David the best of luck for the future, and thanks him for his contribution to the Club.”
