The Hurricanes like the Chiefs are doing the business at the business end of the tournament. A worry for the Hurricanes will be how well they handled the trip back from South Africa. The Blues lost form badly in the week directly following their return from South Africa.

11.00: Zac Guildford scored the first try of the match from a little chip kick through the Lions defence from Willie Ripia. Zac Guildford’s try was scored under the posts and was converted by Ripia.

27.00: The Hurricanes second try was scored by Andrew Hore who spot tackled Earl Rose and wrenched the ball off Rose to dot the ball down on the try line.

29.00: The Lions got their first points of the match as Willie Wepener powers over the line for a try.

 

30.00: Earl Rose converted the try.

 

36.00: Ma’a Nonu scores a great team try for the Hurricanes. New boys Zac Guildford and Willie Ripia helped to set it up.

45.00: The Lions scored the first points of the second half as Jannie Boshoff broke through the Huricanes defence.

63.00: Ma’a Nonu darted round a ruck and dived over the line to score the bonus point try for the Hurricanes. The try takes him to the top of the tryscorers list in the Super 14 after he has scored 7 tries this year.

 

64.00: Willie Ripia missed the conversion.

 

70.00 : Scott Waldrom scores the Hurricanes fifth try as he dives through the air doing a Superman impression under the posts.

 

72.00: Willie Ripia converted the try.
