The Blues kick off and the match is underway.

1.00: The teams both show an early intent to throw the ball around when they have it. There is however a knock on so the Blues have a scrum near the halfway line.

4.00: The Blues run the ball across the field and after several attacks which earn them no ground they kick for touch as they have the advantage. The whistle goes and the Blues have a penalty.

6.00: The Blues kick for touch and take the line out. The ball is overthrown but Otere Black secures it. The Hurricanes go offside so the Blues have another penalty. The Blues will have a shot at the posts.

7.00: Otere Black slots the penalty and the Blues lead.

11.00: The Blues put the pressure on the Hurricanes in their half. They go through 9 phases and the Hurricanes run out of defenders and Tanielu Tele’a gets into space and goes over to score. TRY! 

12.00: Otere Black adds the conversion. The Blues lead 10-0.

16.00: The Hurricanes look to hit back. They go through 17 phases and get the ball to the 5m line and the Blues rip the ball away and kick it well upfield.

17.00: The Hurricanes get the ball back up to the 5m line and move it from side to side testing the Blues. The Hurricanes knock on so they are called back for a penalty.

18.00: Coles tries a quick tap and goes for the line on the 5m line but he is called back as a scrum is required.

23.00: Melani Nanai makes a break which gets the Blues on the attack. They pass the ball down the line though and Caleb Clarke drops it.

25.00: The Hurricanes win the scrum and go through several phases gradually making ground. They opt for the kick through and the Hurricanes chase the ball and regain it. The Hurricanes get almost to the 5m line but then the ball is taken into touch.

28.00: The Hurricanes move the ball out to Ben Lam on the wing – he really turns on the pace and chips the ball ahead but then misses it when he tries to catch it. Knock on.

32.00: The Blues win a scrum after the Hurricanes knock on. They move the ball slowly forward but then get driven back inside their half. Black chips the ball ahead and it gets to the Clarke who passes to Nanai and the Blues are quickly into the Hurricanes 22. Nanai offloads the ball … to the Hurricanes who dot it down behind the line. Blues 5 scrum.

35.00: The Blues win the scrum. Everyone is watching Sonny-Bill who has come tip to the scrum but the ball is passed out to Caleb Clarke who has a big hole to run through and takes it. TRY under the posts.

36.00: Black adds the conversion and the Blues lead 0-17!

37.00: The Hurricanes strike! The Hurricanes run the ball down the line –  Danny Toala slips through a tackle and runs to Melani Nanai who tries a shoulder charge rather than a tackle – Toala offloads just before the connection and Peter Umaga-Jensen goes in to score. TRY! 

39.00: The conversion is missed.

40.07: The siren sounds but the Blues have the ball on attack. The Blues get through twice but the passing isn’t the best and it loses them momentum as they either get stopped or have to dash back for the ball. The Blues do however retain possession and work the ball to the line.

42.00: The Blues go through the phases. 16, 17, and on they go in front of the posts. On the final phase, the ball goes back to Nanai who uses his pace and gets into a gap and runs for the line and scores. TRY!

43.00: Black takes the conversion kick from out wide. He nails it.

The Hurricanes kick off and the match is underway.

Fletcher Smith has come on for James Marshall in the Hurricanes team.

44.00: The Hurricanes go through the phases gradually working the ball into the Blues 22. Jackson Garden-Bachop chips the ball over the top and Fletcher Smith chases and gets the ball and scores. TRY!

45.00: Jackson Garden-Bachop adds the conversion.

48.00: The Hurricanes clear the ball from a ruck just inside the Blues half and Garden-Bachop chips the ball up and over the Blues for Fletcher Smith who gets it and breaks through the Blues who may be tiring. He offloads to Isaia Walker-Leawere who dodges a tackle and runs for the line to score. TRY! 

51.00: The conversion is added and the Hurricanes have brought most of their bench on. 19-24 to the Blues.

53.00: The Hurricanes get the ball to the Blues 5m line and Ardie Savea who has just come on drives and gets driven to the line but he is held up. 5m scrum. It’s all the Hurricanes.

56.00: The Hurricanes have the ball on the Blues 5m line. The Blues defend and the ball becomes unplayable but it’s the Hurricanes who will have the scrum.

59.00; The Hurricanes win a penalty and they kick for touch and set up the line out. Savea wins the ball but the Blues disrupt the attack.

60.00: The Hurricanes keep the ball alive and reset their attack. As they start to press forward they knock on.

62.00: Ma’a Nonu comes on for the Blues to a big cheer from the crowd.

63.00: The Hurricanes are going through the phases slowly not really looking like anything is on and then Alex Fidow crashes through a tackle and passes to Peter Umaga-Jensen who races in for his second TRY!

64.00: Garden-Bachop slots the conversion and the Hurricanes lead 26-24.

69.00: Penalty to the Hurricanes. They choose the line out and kick for touch.

72.00; The ball is knocked on after the line out. The Blues win the scrum and run the ball into the Hurricanes half where their attack is slowed.

74.00: The Blues bring Nonu into the attack but he is tackled and loses the ball. Garden-Bachop chips the ball upfield and the Hurricanes chase it and win a penalty.

75.00: Garden-Bachop lines up the posts for the penalty. He nails it. Hurricanes lead 29-24 – a five-point lead.

78.00: The Blues lose the ball as they clear from a ruck and Jonah Lowe grabs the ball and breaks away for the Hurricanes. He is caught but wins a penalty for the Canes.

79.00: The Blues get a line out in their 22 but the line out is not straight !! The siren sounds.

80.00: The Hurricanes win the scrum and boot the ball into touch to end the contest.
