The Hurricanes are not reading anything into the Crusaders’ loss to the Highlanders as the two sides prepare to go head-to-head in the Super 14 semi-finals in Christchurch on Saturday.

The Crusaders were outplayed by the southerners, and were also left with number eight Mose Tuiali’i in doubt after a blow to the knee.

Hurricanes coach Colin Cooper says it is just great to be there and they are just concentrating on their own game.

He says the team will not be altering their approach through the week, although he expects it will be just be a bit more intense than usual.

In spite of what happened at Eden Park on Friday, Cooper says he is happy with the loss to the Blues as a preparation for the semi.

He says there was a lot of quality play in the match and it was a good build up to where they are heading.

Cooper’s main injury worry is captain Rodney So’oialo who sustained a knock to his ribs and is in doubt for the game.

Cooper says he would be a massive loss, although they do have Chris Masoe and Thomas Waldrom in the squad who could cover.

The Waratahs host the Sharks in Saturday’s second semi-final in Sydney.
