InvestecWP team to play friendly game against visiting French Barbarians

InvestecWP will take on a visiting French Barbarians team at the Danie Craven Stadium in Stellenbosch on Thursday 16 June (public holiday) in a friendly match. Kick-off is at 15h00, and tickets are R10.


The game will be Investec WP’s second preparation match of the season before kicking off their Absa Currie Cup campaign in Bloemfonteinon 24 July 2005against the Vodacom Cheetahs. They take on the Golden Lions in the first of their preparation matches this Saturday at Ellis Park.


‘The French Barbarians team is an experienced, well balanced unit boasting a number of internationals. They have a good, strong scummaging front row and explosive backs and will provide a stern pre-season test for our young Investec WP team,’ said WP Rugby Director of Rugby, Nick Mallett.


There will also be a curtain raiser match between two local clubs, Stellenbosch Coronations and Kylemore.


Tickets are available as of Monday 13 June during office hours from the sports office, Jannie Maraishius, Coetzenburg and at the Danie Craven Stadium gate on Thursday from 12h30.
