Lions Super Rugby flyhalf Elton Jantjies will have a fitness test on Thursday to determine whether he can play in this weekend’s match against the Blues in Johannesburg.
Jantjies was injured playing against the Hurricanes at Emirates (Ellis) Park in Round 10 and had last week’s bye to recover from the knee injury.
The Lions initially thought that it could possibly be a season ending injury but a specialist calmed fears and the Lions are now hopeful he will be able to play against the Blues.
In other news the Lions have been given a boost by the return to fitness of hooker Malcolm Marx (neck injury) and prop Julian Redelinghuys (wrist).
Depending on how well the duo progress this week they may be tested on Thursday to see if they can play this weekend.
