Japan Rugby delegation visits Ballymore

A delegation from the Japan Rugby Football Unions High Performance section has visited Ballymore to inspect Queensland Rugbys training facilities, with a view to establishing aplayer and coach development program.

The delegation, which isalso visiting New Zealand and NSW to evaluate facilities there,will also join the QR Queensland RedsGold Coast training camp atSanctuary Cove this week to watch the players go through their paces under Head Coach Eddie Jones.

The delegation is led byYuichi Ueno, the JRFU Vice Chairman of High Performance, who is accompanied byYuichu Nakazato, the High Performance Co-Ordinator and JRFU HP ManagerTony Philp.

Today’s visit follows a trip to Japan earlier this month by the Reds, who played the Japan national team in a World Cup warmup match.

Eddie Jones has close links with Japan Rugby and QRU Chairman Peter Lewis said he hoped the delegations Queenslandvisit will lead to a formal agreement with the JRFU.
