South Africa’s Southern Kings are at home again this weekend for the third week running and they host the Brumbies in Round 13.

The Kings have won their last three Super Rugby matches – including two matches against Australian teams – which makes this their most successful year to date.

The Brumbies are the leading Australian team but they are wobbling as they have lost their last four matches and their last two losses were at home.

These teams have met once before, playing out a 28-all draw in Canberra in 2013. The Kings are the form team and should expect to get a win at home.

Match detail

We are waiting for the kick-off.

.00: BEEP! BEEP! Lionel Cronje gets the last game of Saturday underway with a deep kick.

.00: The Kings have started the better of the two teams, controlling possession and territory. They go close through Makazole Mapimpi, but the Brumbies’ last defender, saves the day. Mapimpi burnt Tom Banks, but the fullback stripped him of the ball in the act of grounding.

.00: They go close through Makazole Mapimpi, but the Brumbies’ last defender, saves the day. Mapimpi burnt Tom Banks, but the fullback stripped him of the ball in the act of grounding.

.00: PENALTY TRY! Yellow card Tom Banks! Wow! The TMO ruled that Banks deliberately knocked the ball away. He is given a yellow card too.

.00: Schalk van der Merwe is penalised and the Aussies elect to have a shot at goal.

.00: MISS! Wharenui Hawera, to the delight of the home support, pulls his kick wide.

.00: Luzuko Vulindlu is caught offside. Andisa Ntsila is down after taking a head knock. Surely, he should be off? The Brumbies opt for touch.

.00: Hawera goes close, but he’s stripped of the ball at the breakdown and the Kings, through Cronje, clear up to the half-way line. The Brumbies win their throw, go into midfield, but lose the ball with a forward pass.

.00: Cronje chases his own kick and knocks the ball loose from an opponent. The Kings have a scrum, in midfield, near the 22 and win a penalty. Cronje calls for the tee.

.00: PENALTY! Lionel Cronje, from in front, about 25 metres, slots the kick and the Kings lead by 10 points.

.00: The Brumbies come back and are immediately rewarded with a penalty, eight metres from the home team’s try-line. Hawera kicks to touch; lineout to the visitors on the Kings’5.

.00: The Kings collapse the driving maul. They are in yellow card territory now and must be careful. Lineout, take two.

.00: YELLOW CARD Ross Geldenhuys! The tighthead prop is sent to the sin-bin. Take three. Wash, rinse, repeat.

.00: TRY Josh Mann-Rea! The hooker finally gets his try. The Brumbies go to the middle, set up the drive and power over: easy as you like. They make the extra man count.

.00: MISS! Hawera misses his second kick of the evening, but, at least his team is on the scoreboard.

.00: The Brumbies have their tails up. They go through another multi-phase play, but Jordan Smiler, loses the ball in the contact and the move breaks down. Dayan van der Westhuizen comes on to scrum and Stefan Willemse leaves the field.

.00: Another promising move breaks down for the tourists; their handling errors stand at four. The hosts get the scrum on their 10, go wide but are tackled into touch. Not great, that. Tevita Kuridrani took a knock but is back up.

.00: good work in the ruck by the Kings, but Andisa Ntsila, knocks on. The Brumbies kick the ball down the field and the Kings will have a defensive lineout, inside their 22.

.00: Tyler Paul saves the day with a great tackle. The Brumbies pile into the ruck but are pushed off the ball. Alshaun Bock cleaned Tom Banks out.

.00: Louis Schreuder clears from the scrum, the Brumbies win their ball at the lineout, go wide, but Joe Powell loses the ball forward attempting to pass at the base of the breakdown. The handling errors are killing the tourists.

.00: Stefan Willemse is pinged for not releasing. The Brumbies go wide, again, and lose the ball forwards, again. Hawera will kick to touch. It’s been all Brumbies in the last 15 minutes; the Kings cannot get out of their half.

.00: TRY, no try? Peyper calls the TMO to look if he can award Rory Arnold the try. The ball looked to go forward off Sam Carter. NO TRY! The Kings survive

.00: NO TRY! The Kings survive and will have the scrum. They need to see out the last minute here, or they will be kicking themselves.

.00: The Australians go another nine phases, Hawera tries to offload to Kuridrani, but the ball is lost and the Kings survive, just. Very scrappy so far.

The half-time score was Kings 10 Brumbies 5

.00: BEEP! BEEP! We are back under way in Port Elizabeth.

.00: The Kings start by giving away more penalties. Hawera kicks to touch.

.00: The Brumbies botch their lineout and the Kings start chirping because Sam Carter is questioning Jaco Peyper’s call.

.00: The Brumbies keep losing the ball in contact, or by kicking it away. The Southern Kings can’t get their hands on the ball and have been defending for long periods of play.

.00: The game has broken open; the Brumbies attacking, lose the ball, Lionel Cronje, sees a gap, ghosts through and offloads. The ball is recycled back to him, he chips, chases, but can’t gather thanks to some great last-ditch cover defence by the Australians. The Kings get the scrum for a knock on, on the visitors’ 5.

.00: The Kings win a scrum penalty and opt to go again. Irne Herbst is getting checked for an injury to his shoulder but is back up and ready to pack down.

.00: The Kings go crash-ball one too many times and they botch their chance to score. Somehow, they get the penalty advantage. They need to keep their composure. The home support in PE is loud.

.00: Lionel Cronje attempts a cross-kick, but it is way too long. That is the second time in this phase of play that the flyhalf has made the wrong call.

.00: The Aussies are keeping the ball well; going through, yet another, multi-phase play. Allan Alaalatoa has been immense for the Brumbies, carrying with purpose and excellent in the scrum and tight phases.

.00: TRY Aidan Toua! The Kings take a quick lineout, but the pass is intercepted by Chris Alcock. The ball is recycled and Joe Powell puts in a wonderfully weighted grubber kick for Aidan Toua to chase. The fullback, playing left wing tonight, beats the cover defender and scores.

.00: The conversion is good and the visitors have the lead for the first time tonight.

.00: The Kings are looking leggy. They can’t get their hands on the ball. The Brumbies have all the momentum and will look to put the game away, with another score.

.00: TRY Tom Banks dots down after chasing Tevita Kuridrani’s grubber kick, in behind the Kings’ backline. They lost the ball forward, but the hosts conspired to give the back and will lose the game now.

.00: Hawera adds the conversion and that is that. The Aussies lead by nine with less than eight minutes to play.

.00: The Brumbies are managing the clock well; slowing down the play, while keeping the ball.

.00: The Kings win a penalty, lose the ball as time runs down, and the Aussies survive.

.00: BEEP! BEEP! Game over.
