Frik Kirsten has been declared fit for the Blue Bulls Currie Cup clash against The Sharks at Loftus Versfeld on Friday, the Pretoria-based franchise announced on Monday.

Meanwhile, Francois Venter and Jacques du Plessis missed training on Monday, but would be back on Tuesday and would be considered for selection.

Jean Cook (thumb) would have X-rays later on Monday to determine his availability.

Courtnall Skosan (quad, two weeks) was recovering well.

The long-term injury list is: Basil Short (knee, 4 months), Francois Hougaard (ankle, 4 months), Cornell Hess (knee, 4 weeks), Deon Stegmann (shoulder, 4 months), Arno Botha (knee, 2 months), Pierre Spies (bicep, three months), Louis Fouche (knee, 3 months), Morne Mellett (neck, five weeks), Callie Visagie (ankle, eight weeks).
