Stormers flanker Siya Kolisi will miss the Springboks 2016 Rugby Championship due to an ankle injury he sustained playing in a Super Rugby Quarter final.
Kolisi sustained the Syndesmosis injury in the opening stages of the Stormers’ Super Rugby quarterfinal against the Chiefs at Newlands.
The flanker has now undergone surgery on his ankle and will be out of action for the next three months.
In other news for the Stormers squad Nizaam Carr’s shoulder injury will be monitored by the medical staff, and at this stage he is expected to be out for two weeks.
Stormers co-captain Frans Malherbe has also been ruled out for three months due to a neck injury.
