Lambie back but Reinach out for the season

The Sharks have confirmed that Patrick Lambie is fully fit and available for selection this week but Cobus Reinach has been ruled out for nine months.

The Sharks have returned home from their three-week tour to New Zealand and Sharks Dr.Alan Kourie has had time to assess the whole squad.

As reported earlier Lambie is available for selection for this week’s match against the Hurricanes.

While the return of Lambie is a boost for the Sharks Dr.Kourie has revealed that Cobus Reinach who returned to Durban with an ACL injury to his right knee will need surgery.

Reinach will now have surgery and will not play Super Rugby again this season and is expected to be out for nine months.

Elswhere in the squad Inny-Christian Radebe has a meniscus tear in his right knee and will be out for approximately four weeks.

Jacques Potgieter’s ankle rehab is on track to return in approximate return in five weeks

Marcell Coetzee’s Operation was successful and he will return next season and will begin rehab soon.

Philip van der Walt is expected to return from his next injury in around three weeks.

Wandile Mjekevu’s bone bruise to his right knee is only expected to keep him out for another two weeks.

Ruan Botha is in the final phase of ankle rehab and is expected to return in 2/3 weeks.

Francois Kleinhans and Tera Mtembu are both fully fit and available for selection.
