Fiery hooker Clemen Lewis will lead the Boland Kavaliers in Saturday’s Currie Cup rugby match against Western Province in Wellington.

He takes over from Conrad Burke, who is sidelined with a fractured rib.

Hein Myburgh moves from outside to inside centre where he replaces the injured Dewey Swartbooi. Lionel Cornelius will now wear the No 13 jersey.

Marnus Hugo finds himself ar scrumhalf again, despite being ruled out for three weeks earlier this week with a fractured cheek bone.

This clearly shows how desperate coach Deon Davids is not to split his halfback combination where Hugo and Elgar Watts are in excellent form.

A big bonus for Davids is first-choice props, Janro van Niekerk and Kobie Adriaanse, have both recovered from their ankle injuries.

Their presence will make a huge differende to the Boland pack.

Boland:

Justin Peach; Deon Scholtz, Hein Myburgh, Lionel Cornelius, Ernie Kruger; Elgar Watts, Marnus Hugo; Junior Bester, Carel Hoffman, Zolani Mofu, Rito Hlungwane, Nico Esterhuyse, Kobie Adriaanse, Clemen Lewis (capt), Janro van Niekerk.

Replacements. Harry Vermaas, Jané du Toit, Frikkie Spies, André du Toit, Danie van der Merwe, Mark Harris, Llewellyn Adonis.
