The Southern Kings played the Lions in February this season and that match at Ellis Park was won 41-31 by the Lions.

We are waiting for the kick off.
The teams are coming on to the field.
0.01: Demetri Catrakilis kicks off and we are underway.
1.18: The Kings make a strong start by working the ball into to the Lions 22. After 6 phases the Kings 5m line. The pressure is immense and they win a penalty.
2.00: Demetri Catrakilis will kick for posts. He takes the shot and nails it. The Kings lead.
4.00: The Kings are taking the game to the Lions and have brought plenty of intensity for this match.
6.00: The Kings win a scrum on their 22 and Catrakilis kicks well downfield. The Lions run the ball back at them.
8.00: Ronnie Cooke is blown up for a high tackle – not dangerous – so the Lions have a penalty. Elton Jantjies will kick.
9.00: Jantjies takes the kick and JUST curls it in. The scores are level. The Lions have had slightly more possession so far but the Kings look more composed.
10.00; Penalty to the Kings. Catrakilis takes the shot on the edge of the Lions 22, he nails it. Kings lead again.
12.00: Kevin Buys tackles a player without the ball so the Lions have another kick. Jantjies will kick for posts. It’s becoming a kicking contest.
13.00: Jantjies takes the shot fropm about 45m out and nails it. The Scores are level again.
16.00: Derick Minnie has come off for a concussion test.  Warwick Tecklenburg comes on for Jaco Kriel. The Lions break out in centrefield and Stokkies Hanekom slips through and chips ahead and chases. The Kings stop him but concede a penalty.
17.00: Jantjies slots the penalty and the Lions lead for the first time. Kriel has passed his concussion test so he will come back on.  
18.00: The Southern Kings slice through the Lions defence near the touchline and Ronnie Cooke goes over for the try. He fails to get the ball down due to the Lions defence (Deon van Rensburg and Franco van de Merwe). No try. The match is warming up nicely now.
21.00: Penalty to the Lions again. Jantjies takes the kick and slots it. Lions extend their lead.
23.00: The Kings are now dominating the possession and territory but they are being punished for their indiscretions.
25.00; The ref is not happy with Jaco Kriel’s recovery from concussion so he has to come off again. The Lions have also lost a player to the blood bin so they are having to shuffle the team around.
26.00: The Kings win a scrum and attack. They win a penalty and go for the line out drive. The Kings win the ball but spread the ball wide to the other side and Marcello Sampson go over in the corner. The TMO checks and its a TRY! The try was created by a clever cross kick by Catrakilis.
28.00: Catrakilis takes the conversion but misses. The Lions still lead.
31.00: The Lions try a clearance kick but Schalk Ferreira gets a hand to it and Jantjies has to chase the ball and kick it out. Kings putting the Lions under pressure here.
32.00: Penalty in front to the Kings after a break by Ronnie Cooke who is having an excellent game. Catrakilis will kick.
33.00: Catrakilis takes the kcik and nails it. The Kings lead.
36.00: Another penalty to the Kings. Catrakilis takes the kick from almost the half way line. It’s close but it hits the post.
38.00: The Kings are on attack but then out of nowhere Stokkies Hanekom gets an intercept and races through and away to score the Lions first TRY! The Kings had the overlap then too.
39.00: Jantjies takes the conversion kick and nails it. The Lions lead again.
40.00: The siren sounds for half time but we have time for a Kings line out. The Lions however knock the ball on and it’s half time.

The Lions kick off and the second half is underway.
43.00: The Lions get the ball into the Southern Kings 22 by going through the phases. It’s slow but steady until the Lions knock on.
47.00: Schalk Ferreira is caught entering the ruck from the side so the Lions have a penalty in front of the posts. Jantjies takes the kick but misses. Too far left.  
48.00: The game has become a test of who controls the territory and is much slower this half. There is an obvious headbutt in front of the referee but strangely he does nothing.
52.00: The Kings get the ball from a Lions kick. They run the ball out of their half and make plenty of ground as they get to the 22 through 6 phases. They knock on.
54.00: The Kings are keeping the Lions pinned back in their 22. The Lions win their scrum but they have to kick it out and the Kings just run it straight back.
56.00: The Lions win a penalty and they kick well downfield taking the game from one end of the field to the other.
57.00: Big blow for the Kings as Demetri Catrakilis has come off injured holding his hand. George Whitehead is on.
58.00: The Lions have a 5m scrum but they go to ground and it has to be reset.
59.00: The Lions win the scrum but the Kings concede a penalty. The Lions want another scrum as we learn that the attendance is 27 938.
60.00: The Lions win the scrum again and drive for the line but they are held out and then they knock on.
62.00: The Kings win the following scrum but they kick for touch and don’t find it so the Lions try to run the ball. The Kings turn the ball over and they get the ball into the Lions 22 after 5m phases. We go back though for a penalty for the Kings.
63.00: The Kings choose the line out but they knock on. They should have gone for the posts.
64.00: The Kings win a scrum and use the maul. It stops so they run the ball through the backs but as they get to the other side they lose the ball. The Lions get a 22m drop out but Jantjies kick is poor. Somehow the Lions win the ball back and kick for the corner but Whitehead takes it out so the Lions have a 5m line out.
65.00: The Lions go through the phases and Elton Jantjies passes forward to Stokkies Hanekom but the ref misses it and the TRY is awarded. Peyper has not had a good game at all.
67.00: Jantjies takes the kick and slots it.
68.00: Dylan des Fountain is shown a yellow card for an infringement. The Kings kick for touch. Whitehead finds it on the 5m line. This could get interesting.
59.00: The Kings win the line out and Steven Sykes powers over the line. TRY!
69.00: George Whitehead takes the conversion kick but misses.
74.00: The Kings are trying to attack but they are trying to play a little too hard and they are forcing the passes and this time they knock on.
76.00: Elton Jantjies comes off and is replaced by Marnitz Boshoff. The Lions have keeping hold of the ball and playing in the Kings half.
77.00: Marnitz Boshoff tries for a drop goal but misses.
79.00: The Lions are cleverly winding the clock down now.
80.42 The siren sounds as the Lions win a scrum. They kick the ball into touch and win the match.
