Lions get Ernst Joubert back

The Lions have named their team to face the Western Force on Friday and there are a few changes to the team that took on the Blues last Saturday. Ernst Joubert returns from injury to reclaim his role as captain.

After making a huge impact every time he came on in the previous two games, Joe van Niekerk is starting at no.8 this week. Willem Stoltz is also making his comeback to the Lions by being included in the starting line up. Eugene Eloff stated that the changes he made to the team are tactical changes.

The return of Ernst Joubert is a big advantage for the team this week. Joubert said that he feels fit and ready for the game on Friday. ‘ I enjoyed training yesterday and took a few hits in the contact training and didn’t feel any pain so I am ready for Friday’.

Eugene Eloff felt that his teams’ defense let the down against the Blues, and he his adamant that it will be a deferent team taking to the field on Friday. ‘Saturday is history our team is definitely better than what we displayed on Saturday and we are going to proof it Friday’.

Jaco Pretorius might be out with a hamstring injury but it will only be confirmed on Thursday 28 February 2008 after the Captains run. If Jaco is out, Jaco van Schalkwyk will replace him with Jannie Boshoff moving to the bench.
