The Lions look set to lose flyhalf Elton Jantjies for their upcoming Super Rugby matches as he will have surgery on his wrist on Tuesday this week.
Jantjies fractured his left wrist playing for the Lions against the Cheetahs at Emirates (Ellis) Airline Park on Saturday which now needs surgery.
At this stage it is uncertain how long the Lions will be without Jantjies but they have a bye this week and then face the Crusaders at home in Johannesburg next weekend.
The Lions have also confirmed that Jaco Kriel is on Day 2 of the GRTP programme (Start Graduated Return to Play) after his concussion sustained in the match against the Cheetahs.
