The Lions will be without their regular captain Cobus Grobbelaar when they meet Western Province in an important Currie Cup  clash at Newlands on Saturday.

Grobbelaar has been ruled out of the game due to a shoulder injury which he picked up in the game against the Sharks last weekend.

Jano Vermaak will take the role of captaincy, a first for Vermaak.

Todd Clever will replace Willem Alberts and Derick Minnie replaces Cobus Grobbelaar.
