Lions make changes for Waratahs




Lions coach Eugene Eloff has made four changes to the side that lost to Crusaders last weekend for Saturday’s the Super 14 match against the Waratahs in Sydney.

Back into the side comes Springbok Jaco Pretorius, scrumhalf Jano Vermaak and Willie Wepener, who were rested last weekend.

JC van Rensburg, who impressed on the tighthead when he came on as a replacement, starts on Saturday with Ross Geldenhuys on the bench.

The calf injury to Anton van Zyl, who has returned home, sees Dewald Senekal retain his place at lock.

Louis Ludik, Dusty Noble, Jaco Pretorius, Doppies la Grange, Rayno Benjamin, Jaco van Schalkwyk, Jano Vermaak, Willem Alberts, Joe van Niekerk , Cobus Grobbelaar (capt.), Gerhard Mostert, Dewald Senekal , JC van Rensburg, Willie Wepener, Heinke van der Merwe.

Replacements: Ethienne Reynecke, Ross Geldenhuys, Zyl, Franco van Merwe, Wilhelm Koch, Chris Jonck, Rudi Vogt, Jannie Boshoff.
