Lions Super rugby head coach Ivan van Rooyen has moved Willem Alberts to lock for this Saturday’s match against the Blues in Auckland.

Frans van Wyk, Hacjivah Dayimani and Ruan Vermaak will get their first start on tour for Saturday’s match.

In other changes, Alberts moves to lock to partner with Marvin Orie. Vermaak, Dayimani and Schoeman form the new loose-trio.

Among the backs Manuel Rass returns to action while Jamba Ulengo recovered sufficiently from a quad contusion to be included in the starting line-up.

Wandisile Simelane was not considered due to a Grade 1 MCL tear in the right knee. He will be reassessed in the coming week.
