Lions Super 14 Provisional Team Announced

The Lions have named a provisional squad for the 2008 Super 14.

The Lions returned to training on Sunday, 6 January 2008 in preparation for the Super 14. Their first match is against Currie Cup champions the Vodacom Cheetahs on Saturday, 16 February in Bloemfontein.

Head Coach Eugene Eloff says on the Lions website that he was very proud of the players for the training they had done by themselves during the break.

‘I was in my element when I noticed that the whole group had been working extremely hard over December and they proved to me that I can trust them on their own and they will achieve goals.

“That is always a good sign for the future and of a professional rugby player. And this is the way I would like to coach this team’, Eloff said.
