Lleyds out for the Super Rugby season

The Stormers will contest the rest of the 2016 Super Rugby season without Dillyn Leyds who has sustained a season ending injury.

Lleyds did not travel with the Stormers to Argentina after he sustained a a non-contact knee injury at training on Tuesday last week.

It was later revealed that he tore his Anterior Cruciate Ligament which will require surgery that will sideline him for about nine months.

The Stormers will also be without scrumhalf Jano Vermaak for the next three months as he suffered a neck disc injury in the game against the Sharks which was was worse than the specialist initially suspected.

Vermaak had surgery last week and will be out of action for three months.

On the more positive side Damian de Allende and Rynhardt Elstadt have both returned to full training ahead of schedule and will be considered for selection in the Stormers next Super Rugby game against the Sunwolves at Newlands on Friday, April 8.

The only injury concern from the Stormers victory over the Jaguares is that fullback Cheslin Kolbe sustained concussion and and will be reassessed later in the week.
