Experienced campaigners such as John Mametsa, Wayne Julies (pictured), Tiger Mangweni and JP Joubert will be in the Bulls’ starting XV for Wednesday’s warm-up match against the Sharks at the Absa Stadium in Durban.

Kick off at 5pm.Mametsa and Mangweni will team up with flying Rocco Jansen to form a powerful back three, while Julies will combine with the rock solid Braam Gerber in the midfield.

The SA under 20 flyhalf, Francois Brummer, will be Joubert’s halfback partner, with the reliable Gerrit-Jan van Velze, Okkie Kruger and Vince Gwavu as the loose trio.

The tight five is relatively inexperience with Berend Botha and Willem Serfontein packing down in the second row, but this match will be the ideal opportunity for guys like Dean Greyling and Bandise Maku to show that they have what it takes to scrum at Super 14 level.

Quite a number of juniors are on the bench and among them are Francois Hougaard, who has already played Super 14 rugby, as well as the new recruit from the Boland, Dries van Schalkwyk.
