The Sharks have had some mixed news ahead of their Super Rugby quarter final as Willie le Roux looks set to return but they will have little time to prepare.

Springbok fullback Le Roux has not featured for the Sharks since the June Internationals but he is expected to be available for the knock out clash in Wellington.

There are a number of players set to return this week for the Sharks including Springbok Tendai Beast Mtawarira and there is hope Paul Jordaan will be fit.

The Sharks asked Sanzaar for eligibility dispensation for Springbok flyhalf Patrick Lambie last week as he has only played three matches for the Sharks and Sanzaar’s rules state that a player must have played in four matches and been in the squad before April 1 to be eligible for the play offs.

The Sharks had their request for for Lambie denied by Sanzaar last week and they are now trying to get Ruan Botha cleared before they fly out on Tuesday for Wellington. In the meantime the Sharks will be taking Curwyn Bosch to Wellington as cover due to Lambie’s unavailability.

The Sharks will have next to no time to acclimatise their body clocks when they arrive in Wellington as according to SuperSport none of the people at Sanzaar who should be responsible for booking flights and accommodation thought of doing so before late last week. As a result the Sharks will only be able to fly out of South Africa on Tuesday night which means that it will be just about Thursday before they arrive in Wellington due to the time difference and the length of travel.  In comparison the Crusaders will arrive in South Africa on Tuesday night (Wednesday morning NZ time).
