In a boost ahead of the ACT Brumbies’ must-win match against the Sharks on Saturday, coach Laurie Fisher declared captain Stirling Mortlock “fine” after the concussion he suffered in the team’s hard-fought win over the Auckland Blues.

Mortlock left the field in the second half after his head collided with the knee of opposition hooker Keven Mealamu on Saturday.

But Fisher said the Wallaby skipper would be available to play this weekend, reports RugbyHeaven website.

“He’s pulled up fine today. There are no ill effects,” Fisher said about his captain.

“He didn’t even take a Panadol.”

The Sharks escaped with a narrow win over the  Highlanders on Friday to remain unbeaten this year and sit second on the ladder behind the Canterbury Crusaders.
