Brian Mujati who has moved to the Stormers for this season says that he has no big plans for this season and only wants to cement his place in his new Super 14 side.

Mujati,23, was with the Lions for two seasons and he has impressed is some quarters so much that he has even been mentioned as a possible candidate for the Springboks even though he was born in Zimbabwe.

‘I want to make the team and play in the team, that is it. If I play well I will stay in the team, but for now my goal is to make the team first.’ he says on the Stormers web site.

Obviously if he does achieve his goal for the year he stands a better chance of playing for the Boks but said, have a good year, ‘I don’t know about that (Springbok selection), but if I am good enough they will pick me.’ He would qualify through residence just as Lesley Vainikolo has just qualified to pay for England.

Mujati didn’t feature much last year as he was out injured for seven months with an injured wrist, ‘It was bad, as for the first two months I couldn’t feel my fingers at all. Now it is much better. I am ready again to play a match.’

He also says that he is happy with his move to Cape Town and has settled in nicely,’I like the city and I am enjoying it here. There is a nice vibe and the people are very friendly and more ‘rustig’ (relaxed) then up there in Joburg.

‘I’ve adapted nicely to the lifestyle. I’ve been trying to get past my hand thing, because that’s been the longest I’ve been out with any injury. I want to hit the ground running.’
