New Cheetahs coach Smith rings the changes

New Cheetahs coach Franco Smith has named his first Super Rugby team and has
made several changes to the Naka Drotske team that played the Stormers last
week.

In the backline Smith has chosen to start Niel Marais at flyhalf which pushed
Joe Pietersen out on to the replacements bench.

Smith has also started Sarel Pretorius at scrumhalf, Cornal Hendricks on the
left wing and Coenie van Wyk will start as fullback replacing Clayton Blommetjies.

Rayno Benjamin moves up from the bench replacing Michael van der Spuy.

In the forwards Tienie Burger and Boom Prinsloo swops places on flank and Niell
Jordaan will make his Super Rugby debut as eightman

On the replacements bench Elandre Hugget will be taking Stephan Coetzee’s
seat, Gerhard Olivier replaces Carel Greeff and Shaun Venter will also be on the
bench.

Willie Britz was originally named on the bench but was then replaced by Gerhard Olivier. ON Thursday there was another late change as Willie Le Roux replaced Joe Pietersen on the bench.
