Lwazi Mvovo and Sikhumbuzo Notshe have both been released from the Springboks’ Rugby Championship squad preparing to face Argentina’s Pumas this weekend.
The pair have been released back to their home provinces but will remain part of the overall Bok squad but will not feature in the Rugby Championship opener on Saturday.
As a precaution, Francois Hougaard will not be considered for selection for the first two Tests against Argentina. He returned from the 2016 Rio Olympics with a knee niggle and following evaluation, Hougaard is currently undergoing rehabilitation with a view to return to fitness and participate later in the Rugby Championship.
Meanwhile, prop Trevor Nyakane is making very good progress with his ankle recovery and there is a good chance he will be considered for the 26-man Bok touring squad to Argentina.
The Springboks are currently busy with preparations for the first Rugby Championship Test against Argentina on Saturday at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.
Springbok coach Allister Coetzee will announce his match-23 on Thursday.
The bookies have the Springboks at 6/1 to win the Rugby Championship.
