ANOTHER EP Kings rugby coach could be packing his bags and heading for Europe.

French rugby websites have reported that highly rated Kings defence coach Omar
Mouneimne is set to link up with French club Lyon for a twomonth stint as a
consultant.

Asked about the reports, EP Rugby chief executive Charl Crous said: “EP
Rugby are in discussions with Omar about his future. A full statement will be
made at a later stage.”

The Euro Sport Rugby Rama website said an announcement on Mouneimne joining
Lyon was expected next week.

At the end of last season, EP forwards coach Shaun Sowerby left the Kings unexpectedly
to link up with former Springbok coach Jake White at Montpellier in France.

Press release:
19 January 2015
Regarding Kings Defence Coach
Eastern Province Rugby CEO, Charl Crous confirmed reports that Kings Defence
Coach, Omar Mouneimne, has been approached by French team Lyon OU to possibly
assist them on a consultancy basis.

“At this point in time nothing has been confirmed and there is no agreement
in place with Lyon. Omar played a valuable role in making the Southern Kings
one of the toughest teams defensively in the 2013 Super Rugby competition, and
we can already see the positive impact that his return has had on the team,”
said Crous.

Crous said Mouneimne, who is personal friends with Lyon’s manager Tim
Lane, had confirmed that he had been contacted by Lane regarding assisting on
a consultancy basis.
“We are discussing the matter with him and these talks are ongoing. We
will comment further once these talks have been finalised,” he said.
